Mansion House Restoration Shaftesbury Estate

Shaftesbury Banner

Having successfully installed a Bio-Bubble to treat the waste from St Giles House, which has been the historic home of the Earls of Shaftesbury since 1651, as part of Lord Ashley-Cooper’s major restoration project to the large mansion House, the estate has decided to use Advanced Aeration’s Bio-Bubble technology again to treat the waste from All Hallows Farm and two further houses which are part of the 5,500 acre Shaftesbury Estate.

Specialist contractors M J Abbott based at Dinton near Salisbury undertook the whole installation including replacing drains in fine turfed areas, so that after they had finished works, little evidence of damage to the turfs caused by machine activity could be seen. The challenging ground conditions for the installation of two 4m deep Carlow Tanks with a water table that was found at just 1.0 m below the surface meant that M J Abbott’s further expertise in working under seemingly impossible conditions enabled a successful installation much to the delight of Philip Rymer, resident land Agent for Shaftesbury Estates. Similar to the needs of St. Giles House; All Hallows Farm project required a system that produced the best quality final effluent, the least sludge production with minimal smells detectable, all key attributes of the Advanced Aeration’s Bio-Bubble process, as many can testify! The estate’s responsibilities include being custodian to important areas of the East Dorset AONB therefore, an environmentally friendly process was top of the wish list. M J Abbott’s Wealth of experience with all waste treatment options and favourable experiences with the performance of Bio-Bubble systems against other options gave them the confidence required when making recommendations to important clients to their business.
